I have so many exciting things to share in the upcoming
weeks. One project that I hope to be
finishing up is our playroom. I am
searching for a before picture to share with you, but I will post a few in
progress pictures later this week. We
have completely redone this room from ceiling to floors. By “we”, I mean that I design and my loving
husband does all the work. From electric
work to skim coating, he does it all! I
will, however, be doing the decorating and any projects that go along with
that. I am going with a Restoration
Hardware sort of feel for it. I want to
create a calm atmosphere where they can sit and create, and also be able to do
school work or read without the chaos that was found in our previous
playroom. It is important to me to
have it organized, clean, and functional, yet still feel like it is a special
place just for them. I also want to make
sure to have enough floor room to allow them to set up huge cities with their
blocks and build train tracks across the room.
I have several ideas in my head and I can't wait to see it all come
together. I will be sharing some of them
as I get to that stage. We are very
close to painting, which is the last step before the decorating begins. I have decided on Revere Pewter by Benjamin
Moore. It is a beautiful grey with a
hint of beige. I am keeping it warm and
neutral to flow with the rest of the house.
Without giving too much away I will tell you some of the features will
include poke-a-dots, bunting, subway art, and a special display for
artwork. It will have just the right
amount of rustic and elegant elements.
EEEEKKK!!! I am just too excited.
